Nancy Steen, painter and printmaker,
received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University
and did graduate work at New Mexico State University and the
University of New Mexico. After producing a series of
lithographs at Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico,
she moved to California and founded her own lithography
workshop, New Leaf Press, producing her lithographs and
publishing lithographs for other Bay Area and New York
artists. Her lithography and paintings are a combination of
realism with fantasy that utilize subtle colors and depth.
Steens exacting, technical ability and adept use of
color confirm her as one of the Southwests outstanding
talents.
